Dolores C. Houghton

Dolores C. Houghton, age 86, of Cassville, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at her home. She was born on October 11, 1933, in Cassville, the daughter of Nick and Rose (Brinkman) Esser. Dolores graduated from Cassville High School in 1951. On October 14, 1961, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Houghton at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Sauk City where Dolores was employed at a motor vehicle department in Madison for ten years. Lawrence and Dolores returned t o Cassville. Dolores enjoyed going on walks, playing cards and dancing. She was a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, Lawrence; her siblings: Geraldine Mumm, Donald (Barb) Esser, and Darlene (Mike) Schauff, all of Cassville; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her siblings: Florence (Merlin) Ley, Bernice (Paul) Vogt, and Charles Esser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Due to COVID-19, those in attendance are asked to observe social distancing and wear a mask. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is entrusted with her care.
