Dolores A. Rumler, age 77, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, August 06, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born September 8, 1933, on the family farm in Bagley, the daughter of Joe and Ann (Huser) Bierman. Dolores had eight children in her first marriage and on July 19, 1969, she married Donald Rumler and had one child. Dolores was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was employed at LLC in Lancaster for many years. Dolores loved having her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around her. Spending time in her flower gardens, crocheting, sewing, doing crafts, doll collection, puzzles and watching birds were of great interest to her.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Rumler, Bloomington; two step-sons, D. Wm. (Judy) Rumler, Elizabeth, CO; Larry E. (Vicki) Rumler, Moline, IL; nine children: Stephen (Erica) Hill, Madison; Barbara (Keith) Bohringer, Waunakee; Sandi (Curt) Mergen, Lancaster; Katherine (Randy) Strang, Cheyenne, WY; Bev (James) Broihahn, Lancaster; Joan Hill, Madison; Jacqueline (Rick) Clark, Mt. Hope; Gerri (Joe) Reuter, Lancaster; Ted (Amy) Rumler, Mt. Horeb; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Joan) Bierman, Glen Haven; a sister, Mary Sue (Bill) Bausch, Cassville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Bierman and a nephew, David Bierman.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends called on Monday, August 8, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., where a 3:45 p.m. rosary was held at St. Marys Catholic Church, Bloomington. Friends also called on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington is assisting the family.
