Dianne K. Rice, age 62, of Mount Hope, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 22, 1954, in Lancaster, the daughter of George H. and Betty J. (Novinski) Edge. Dianne graduated from Lancaster High School in 1972. She furthered her education at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore where she earned a degree in accounting. Dianne was employed at the Pink Pony in Lancaster during high school and later fulfilled her accounting career at B&H Lumber as a bookkeeper for 39 years. On June 12, 1976, she was united in marriage to Charlie E. Rice at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. To this union, two sons were born: Jeremy and Joshua. Together the couple farmed for many years. Dianne was very active in her church and her community. She served as the Mount Hope Village Treasurer, Mount Hope Methodist Church Treasurer, President of the West Grant Music Boosters, managed the concession stand at Wyalusing State Park, operated the concession stand for the West Grant Little League, and played trumpet in the West Grant Christmas Brass as well as the West Grant Pep Band, and was a member of the West Grant Lioness Club. Dianne enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, knitting, bead work, scrapbooking, canning, traveling, and fishing. She dearly loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her cats.
Survivors include her loving husband, Charlie; their sons: Jeremy and Joshua (Stephanie); five grandchildren: Felisa, Damien, Gavin, Ezekiel, and Iziah; her mother, Betty Edge; her sister, Debbie (Garry) Raymond; sister-in-law, Jackie Edge; other relatives and many friends.
Dianne was preceded in death by her father, George Edge and her two brothers, Roger, and Darrell.
Private family services and burial will be held at a later date. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.
