Dennis P. Denny Fishnick, age 59, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 28, 2014, at UW Madison Hospital of respiratory complications, with his loving family by his side. Dennis was born on March 1, 1955, in Lancaster, the son of Bev (Losch) Fishnick and the late Paul Fishnick. He was a 1974 graduate of Lancaster High School. Dennis was employed by the City of Lancaster for thirty-eight years. He enjoyed playing City-League softball and appreciated helping student athletes in basketball and baseball. Dennis enjoyed all forms of auto racing, especially NASCAR. He was an avid Packer, Badger, and Brewer fan and looked forward to his trips to the ballparks. Dennis was fond of his familys gatherings and treasured when friends and family stopped in to visit him. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster.
Survivors include his mother, Bev Fishnick, Lancaster; his siblings: JoAnn (Curt) Uppena, Potosi; Pat (Dean) Vogt, Steve (Cece) Fishnick, Paula (Mike Bartels) Pecinovsky, Al Fishnick, Kathy Fishnick, Mary Fishnick, and Deb (John) Murray, all of Lancaster; nieces and nephews: Angie Pierce, Kelly Graney, Amy Digman, Andrea Vogt, Brandon Vogt, Brad Fishnick, Brittany Fishnick, Stephanie Fishnick, Melissa Kress, David Pecinovsky, Cindy Krantz, Mike Fishnick, J.D. Fishnick, Heather Fishnick, Adam Fishnick, Ryan Murray and Erin Murray; many great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Paul Fishnick, maternal and paternal grandparents, and a nephew, Colton Fishnick.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Monday, December 1, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, where a 3:45 p.m. Scripture Service was held. Friends also called on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Dennis P. Fishnick Memorial Fund has been established. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
