Dennis L. Reed, age 68, of Stitzer, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015, at his home. He was born on April 23, 1947, in Lancaster, the son of Leonard and Lois (Fullbright) Reed. He graduated from Cassville High School in 1965. On October 31, 1966, Dennis was united in marriage to Linda L. Reed. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Dennis was employed at the Lancaster Post Office for over 38 years and served as the Post Master. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 184 of Fennimore and the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed any kind of hunting and fishing. He was a Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan and any sport his grandson played.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Lue Reed; children: Jason Robert Reed, Platteville; Becky (Eric) Kiesau, LaCrescent, MN; Michael (Melissa) Reed, Fennimore; grandchildren: Thomas Kiesau, Kelsey Kiesau, Mariah and Marissa Reed, and Alexandra "Lexi" Kiesau; mother-in-law, Lucille Reed, Lancaster; a brother-in-law, Larry Reed, Lancaster; many cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wilbert Reed.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 21, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lancaster with Reverend Jean Schmidt officiating. Burial with military honors was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Dennis L. Reed Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
