Dennis A. Ploessl age 65, of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Lancaster Care Center. He was born on January 14, 1947 in Lancaster, the son of Ralph and Margaret (McCartney) Ploessl. He grew up on the family farm near North Andover and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1965. Dennis worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until 1986. He then went to work on his brother, Roger’s farm. After that, he worked at Food Pride until its closing. Dennis had a great love for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his friends and family.
Dennis is survived by his children: Todd (Geraldine) Carteron, Tracy (Bob) Kubitz, Travis (Desiree) Ploessl, Todd (Tricia) Ploessl, and Kerri (Travis) Shefelbine; 12 grandchildren; his parents, Ralph and Margaret Ploessl; his brothers: Wayne (Colleen) and Roger (Barb) Ploessl; a sister: Cindy (Larry) Osterhaus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Graeow; his brother, Bruce Ploessl; his nephew, Dustin Osterhaus; and a grandson, Vincent Ploessl.
Private family funeral services will be held at a later date. Friends may call on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Cassville. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Dennis A. Ploessl memorial fund has been established.
