Dean Deano G. Blindert, age 53, of Potosi, died on Monday, February 20, 2012, in Potosi. He was born on October 25, 1958, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Harold J. and Shirley (Leibfried) Blindert. Deano served his country stationed in Germany from 1984 until 1988. On October 19, 1990, he was united in marriage to Janice Pennekamp in Lancaster. Deano was employed at Loud Speaker Component in Lancaster for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman. Deano enjoyed boating, camping, hunting, fishing, and his dog, Molly. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed cooking catfish with his father. Deano was fun loving, easy going and loved a good time. He will be greatly missed.
Deano is survived by his wife, Janice Blindert, Potosi; son, Bradley Blindert, Potosi; grandson, Mason Hardy; his father, Harold Blindert, Potosi; his siblings: Dan Blindert, Marquette, IA; Debra (John) McDonald, Potosi; Kevin (Bob) Blindert, Delavan; Karen Murphy, Kieler; Chris (Jeff) Friederick, Potosi; many nieces, nephews, three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law and many friends.
Deano was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley and his step-mother, Priscilla Blindert.
Funeral Services were be held on Friday, February 24, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tennyson, with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial with military honors was held in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Family and friends called on Thursday, February 23, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is assisting the family.
