David R. "Dave" Kjos, age 60, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on September 10, 1960, in Lancaster, the son of Ronald "Ron" and Nancy (Tucker) Kjos. Dave graduated from Lancaster High School in 1979. He was employed at the former Farmer's Telephone Company. On September 11, 1982, he married Ann M. Carroll at St. Clement Catholic Church. Dave was employed as an electrical lineman with Alliant Energy, retiring in 2019. He attended St. Clement Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2820. Dave was also a member of the Lancaster Fire Department and served as 1st and 2nd Assistant Chief. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. Dave had many sayings and quotes, but his favorite were always by Vince Lombardi.
Survivors include his daughters: Kelly (Cory) Pronschinske and Emily (Cody) Plenge; his father, Ron Kjos; his sisters: Pam (Dean) Johnson, Cheryl Olson, and Karen (Pat) Schroeder; his former wife, Ann Kjos; members of the Carroll family; many nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy; a nephew, Matthew Schroeder; a niece, Sarah Pulvermacher; a great-nephew at infancy, Jasper Sanders; two brothers-in-law, Jim Klippel and Scott Olson.
Private family Funeral and Fireman's Last Call services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne. Private family burial will be at a later date. Family and friends may call on Friday, April 16, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster. Please wear your favorite Green Bay Packer attire. In lieu of plants and flowers, a David R. Kjos Memorial Fund has been established.
