David Lyle Potter age 58, of Beetown, died on Wednesday, October 06, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster, after a hard fought battle with colon cancer. He was born on August 16, 1952, in Lancaster, the son of Lyle and Helen (Purkapile) Potter. He owned and operated Potter Logging and the Valley Tap in Beetown. Dave was a logger at heart and also enjoyed wood working, antique restoration and reading.

Survivors include his daughter, Peggie (Ben) Kuenne, Marshfield; his mother, Helen Potter, Beetown; brother, Mike (Karen) Potter, Potosi; his sisters: Bev Teasley, Arkansas; Betty (Jerry Cromwell) Nelson, Cassville; Trudi Cromwell, Lancaster; one granddaughter, Toni Kuenne; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his dog and best friend, Sara.

Dave was preceded in death by his son, Clint; his father, Lyle Potter; his sister, Brenda Moore and brother-in-law, Mark Moore.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Friends may call on Friday, October 8, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster. Burial will be in Beetown Cemetery, Beetown Township.
