David Sturmer, age 66, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer at Grant Regional in Lancaster. He was born on March 9, 1953 in Lancaster, WI, the son of Alton and Evelyn (Sudmeier). After graduating from Lancaster High School, Dave started working in the concrete business driving a cement truck, and then started at Tri-County Structures in Bloomington in 1974. He eventually bought into the business and became the owner. Dave took a massive amount of pride in each and every job he took on. He had very high standards for his craft and enjoyed getting to know so many people along the way. He is the poster child for a ‘hard workin man’ and was still pouring concrete up until September.
Dave married Peggy M. Abing on August 31,1974, and they enjoyed a hardworking, but fun life together meeting many new friends along the way playing Jamison Store Softball, camping, hunting and vacationing. He really enjoyed his three Grandkids who made him smile bigger than ever.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Peggy and son, Brad (Jody); his grandchildren: Braxton, Addison and Evelyn; his siblings: Ron (Nancy), Bob (Carole), Kathy (Rod) Kalish, Marsha Wagner and Jim (Dorothy); sister-in laws: Mary Kay Abing (Jim Breuer) and Ellen (Randy) Koeller; brother-in-laws: Randy (Jane) Abing, Ronnie (Terri) Abing, Chuck (Kim) Abing, Keith (Lisa) Abing, Kevin Abing, Marty (Jennifer) Abing and Kurt Abing; step father-in-law: Dan Joyce, and many very special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his father and mother-in law: Cyril and Florentine Abing; brother Pete, and brother-in-law: Lowell Wagner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Vernon officiating with burial to follow at St. Clement Catholic Church Cemetery.
