David J. Schultz, age 79, of Lancaster, formerly of Milwaukee, died on Thursday, January 06, 2011, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on July 3, 1931, in Richmond, West Virginia. David lived most of his youth in the Milwaukee area. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1961. In 1968, David married Margaret Paradowski at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 1987. He held the Clerk of Court office position in Milwaukee County for over twenty-five years. David was a member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, dancing, and a good game of cards. In 1998, he became a resident at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. It was there that he participated in the choir, bell choir, and enjoyed being a helper to staff and fellow residents.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Jane Bernhardt, Cassville; his foster family, the Chicanteks of the Green Bay and Milwaukee areas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, David was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Grace, and a brother-in-law, Dr. B. L. Bernhardt.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholtz officiating. Burial with military honors was held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee. Family and friends called on Monday, January 10, 2011, from 12:00 noon until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is assisting the family.
