David G. Clements

David G. Clements, age 64, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at UW Hospitals in Madison, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 9, 1945, in Lancaster, the son of J. Wilbert and Martha (Wanezek) Clements. David graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1973. David served his country in Viet Nam and Germany. He later graduated from Southwest Technical College. On September 9, 1973, David was united in marriage to Linda Hartman. David was employed with Grant County for fourteen years as a milk tester. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 2820 and the William Pollock VFW Post No. 2344 of Lancaster. David enjoyed a good card game at Zippys every morning and  spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Badger, Packer, Brewer and Lancaster Special Olympics fan.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Clements; his children: Michael (Jennifer) Clements and Cynthia Clements, all of Lancaster; three grandchildren: Taylor, Alexis, and Johnathan Clements, all of Lancaster; his brother, Roger (Joan) Clements, Alpena, MI; his sister-in-law, Kristine (Tim) Smythe and his brothers-in-law, Charles (Jerolyn) Hartman and Paul (Laura) Hartman, all of Potosi.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Donald, and his mother and father-in-law, Arno and Clara (Udelhoven) Hartman.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and from  10:00 a.m. on Friday until time of services at the church.
