David E. Cale, age 66, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster, WI. He was born August 14, 1952 in Lancaster the son of Evan and Inez (Hilger) Cale. Dave attended the Rock School in Glen Haven, WI, and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1970. He furthered his education with a degree in Autobody from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore. Dave married Carol A. Metcalf on December 28, 1973 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glen Haven. He worked at Skyline Corp. in Lancaster for over 41 years and was later employed for more than 7 years at Brown’s Sales and Leasing in Guttenburg, IA, as an RV consultant. Dave enjoyed car shows, motorcycling, deer hunting, swap meets, and restoring classic vehicles.
Dave is survived by his wife, Carol; their children: Jacqueline (Indra Lim) Cale, David C. (Angela) Cale, and Christopher Cale; seven grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Robert) Gust; and many members of the Hilger and Cale families.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in Cassville Cemetery, rural Cassville. Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a David E. Cale Memorial Fund has been established. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Bloomington is serving the family.
