David C. Moore, age 56, of Bloomington, died on Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. He was born on August 29, 1956, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Glen and Patricia (Hyer) Moore. David graduated from Bloomington High School in 1974. On September 14, 1985, he was united in marriage to Carol A. Rice. David was employed with River Ridge Middle School as a custodian for over twenty-six years and in his spare time worked in construction pouring concrete. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, camping, and fishing. David spent his free time playing cards, woodworking, spending time with the grandchildren and grilling chicken with the family on Sunday nights.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carol A. Moore; their children: Craig (Cindy) Krantz; Christy (Jerry) Krantz; Daniel (Augusta) Moore; Douglas (Ashley) Moore; Connie (Tyson) Moore; seven grandchildren: Carter, Landon, Cameron, Caleigh, Ashlyn, Adalyn, and Ivanelle; his siblings: Glenda Eck; Carol Giombi; Ronnie (Denise) Moore; Dale Moore; his mother, Patricia (Jake) Weaver; his mother-in-law, June Rice; his brothers-in-law: Richard Rice and Tom (Pam) Rice; other relatives and many friends.
David was preceded in death by his father, Glen; his grandparents, Ralph and Sylvina Hyer; his father-in-law, Ron Rice; and Alberta Kalinowski.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Reverend Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Hermitage Cemetery, Mt. Hope Township. Family and friends called on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. At Davids request, please dress in jeans and t-shirts for the services. In lieu of plants and flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Vandy Bloyer Bloomington Village Square Shelter Fund. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is serving the family.
