David A. Scram Hines, age 37, of Cassville passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. He was born on August 31, 1971 in Lancaster, the son of Lewis and Barbara (Wentz) Hines. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1990. David was united into marriage to Shaun E. Koelker on June 5, 2003 at the Cassville Riverside Park. He has been employed at the Gary and Sandra Adams Family Farm all of his working life. David was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. He built many things by hand, which included a family horse arena where he liked to rope and ride. Above all, his greatest joy in life was his daughter, Hailey.
Survivors include his wife, Shaun and daughter, Hailey of Cassville; his father, Lewis (Elaine Muldoon) Hines, Lancaster; his mother, Barbara (John) Bond, Cassville; his mother and father-in-law, Jackie (Bill) Ley, Cassville; his sisters: Sheila (Michael) Stelpflug, Bloomington, Rachel (Jason Landon) Hines, Beetown and Sarah (Travis) Kirschbaum, Bloomington; a sister-in-law, Holly (Michael Dressler) Ley, Lancaster; his brothers-in-law, Wyatt Ley, Cassville and Christopher Maahs, Potosi; maternal grandparents, Ike (Louise) Koelker, Cassville and James (Norma Starrett) Ley, Lancaster; nieces and nephews: Tyler Hines, Samantha, Marissa, Lauren and Jacob Stelpflug, Amber Landon and Braxton Dressler; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services were held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial was in Beetown Cemetery. Friends called on Monday, June 8, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. The Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisted the family.
In lieu of plants and flowers, a David A. Hines Memorial Fund has been established.
