Darrall G. Leighton

Darrall G. Leighton, age 61, of Davenport, IA, went to heaven on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. He was born on September 26, 1951, in Milwaukee, the son of Lynn and Lona (Murphy) Leighton. Darrall graduated from Potosi High School and furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee where he earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology. In 1987, he moved to Davenport, IA. In the early 1990s, Darrall was employed with a telephone company where due to his sales expertise he earned a memorable trip to the Bahamas. He was also employed as an insurance adjuster for many years. Darrall was a dedicated Green Bay Packer fan and a season ticket holder. He also loved trail bike riding in Davenport, IA and Door County. Darrall had a passion for cars, enjoyed playing computer games, and always enjoyed his pet birds, especially Skyler. He was outgoing and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his mother, Lona Leighton, Lancaster; his aunt, Aleatha Kadinger, Sturgis, SD; cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Darrall was preceded in death by his father, Lynn in March of 1998, an older brother, Tarrall in 1948, and his aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Prairie du Chien. Family and friends called on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is serving the family.
