Darlene A. Meighan

Darlene Alpha Meighan, passed away on June 2, 2022, at Park Place Senior Living in Platteville, Wisconsin. She was born on March 6, 1931, in Ellenboro, Wisconsin to Florence (Breihan) and Arthur Brauchler. On June 17, 1950, she married Howard Meighan at the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Darlene was raised in the Ellenboro store which her parents owned. She always dressed impeccably in an ever-changing wardrobe. Her passion was shopping, and it didn't matter if it was in a store, a garage sale, or the local thrift shop as long as it was a bargain. She excelled at photography and loved taking pictures of her beautiful flowers, the many travel adventures she took and family members. She was a hard worker, spending many years at Ramshaws, Advanced Transformer, LCC and Rayovac. She was well-known for her quick remarks "I am over the hill and off the pill" or "I'm fine as a frog's hair".
Darlene is survived by her children: Sherry Fuller, Mike (Laurie) Meighan and Jeffrey (Susan) Meighan; grandchildren: Heather Fuller (Reggie Baxter), Bart (Jociene) Fuller, Jenny (Chad) Cassens, Erin (Mike) Maney, Jonathan (Lindsay) Meighan and Thomas (Allysa) Meighan; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; sister, Marion (Roswell) Luckey and son-in-law, Jim Fuller.
Funeral services will be held at the Lancaster United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 5th with Pastor David Kim officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers a Darlene Meighan memorial fund has been established.
