Madison and Bloomington

MADISON WI/BLOOMINGTON WI- Daniel E. Leamy, age 51 of Madison & Bloomington passed away from an apparent heart attack on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at his Madison home. He was born on June 13, 1973, the son of David and Shirley (Adrian) Leamy.

Dan attended Bloomington High School. He had a variety of jobs, having worked at Wisconsin Badger Camp as a Counselor, and a case manager for REM in Madison WI. He then returned to Bloomington to work at the Ace of Club’s and then purchased the business in 1997- changing the name to Danny’s Ace of Clubs. His next professional career was case management for individuals with HIV. He proudly served 13 years as a HIV Case Worker at the former AIDS Network, now known as Vivant Health; and has been at his current job as the Human Services Program Coordinator for the AIDS/HIV Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Dan took great pride in touching & impacting the lives of so many. He was “the fun” son, brother, boss, coworker and friend. Dan loved to cook and share his creations with family and friends. There are so many words to describe him, and we’ve heard wonderful stories and testaments about his impact. He was loved by many and had a significant impact on the lives of others!

He loved serving as a volunteer EMT with the West Grant Rescue Squad and as a part time charter bus driver for WARCO Transportation in Bloomington.

Survivors include his three sisters: Kimberly (Bryan) Martens, Stacy (Greg) Martin, and Sherri Leamy. His nieces and nephews: Torin (Ally Leibert) Mumm, Tamara (Kyle) Thorsen, Mahcoy Mumm, and Ian Martin; four great-nieces and nephews: Dominic, Holiday & Kari Thorsen and Lilith Mumm. His aunts Mary Jean Kusick, Virginia Leamy, Donna Theisen, and uncles Ronald (Laurie) Adrian and Harold Lenz; as well as several cousins. Dan had an army of amazing friends and coworkers from the Madison area whom he loved, cherished, respected and spoke of so often.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents David & Shirley Leamy in August 2024; his most favorite joy of his life, his dog Payten; his grandparents Eugene and Marie Leamy; Francis and Pearl Adrian; uncles and aunts: James “Jim” and Janet Leamy; JoAnn Lenz, Kaye Johnstone, Bill, Nick (Roberta Muntz), and Randy Adrian; Richard Kusick; special angels in heaven, his niece Trista Marie Mumm, and great-niece Natalee Jo Mumm.
