Daniel K. “Pork” Meier, age 53, of Burton, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 19, 1969, in Lancaster, the son of William and LaVon (Slaght) Meier. Pork graduated from Cassville High School in 1988. He worked for Bernie Fecht and later was employed at Flexsteel in Dubuque, IA. Pork remained working for Bernie during his employment at Flexsteel. In the later 1990’s, he began Meier Concrete which he owned and operated up to present time. Concrete work was not just a job to Pork. It was his passion and his hobby. Pork was a dedicated hard-working man who loved meeting new and old clients on a job. On May 12, 2012, he was united in marriage to Lynn Anderson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Burton. Pork enjoyed road cruising, ranger riding, fishing, Busch Light, pontoon rides on the river, junking steel, and old country music. He also enjoyed old cars, tractors, and dirt bikes. Pork dearly loved spending time with his family and good friends and always had his little red cooler by his side. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lynn; children: Anthony (Kelly) Gardner; Tiffany Meier; Corey Meier; Mattie Meier; and Mallory Meier; his grandchildren: Adriana Melssen and Marshall Gardner; his siblings: Darlene Buss; Diane (Dave) Buss; Doug (Sandy) Meier; Dale (Carol) Meier; Mark (Diane) Meier; Bonnie (Jay) Lenz; Bob “Moon” (Sue) Meier; Rod (Kim) Meier; Dawn (Charles) Bernhardt; Lisa (Floyd) Churchill; his mother-in-law, Patricia Anderson; his in-laws: Dennis, Alan and Timothy (Nancy) Salis and Tami Anderson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Pork was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Buzzy Buss and Kevin Anderson and a niece, Kelly Meier.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor David Froemming officiating. Burial will be in Burton Cemetery, Burton. Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
