Dallas Schonhoff

Dallas A. Schonhoff, age 65, of Lancaster, passed away on July 6, 2010 at home. Dallas was born on February 20, 1945, in Menominee, Illinois, the son of Theodore and Marie (Vondran) Schonhoff.

Dallas spent his early years in Menominee, moving to Galena at age 14, graduating from Galena High School in 1963.

Dallas was employed as a driver for Siegs in Dubuque. He was later employed with the City of Lancaster in June 1979, working in Public Works and Maintenance for over 25 years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed fishing and taking road trips.

Dallas is survived by his son, Christopher J. Schonhoff of Dubuque, Iowa; two brothers, Don (Jeanne) Schonhoff of Dubuque, and Merlin (Terry) Schonhoff of Chula Vista, California; nieces, nephews, aunts and an uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Marie Schonhoff.

Family and friends called on Friday, August 13, 2010, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home, 111 S. Tyler Street in Lancaster. Private family burial was held on Saturday, August 14, 2010, in Menominee. IL.
