Dallas J. Esser

Dallas J. Esser, age 22 of Cassville, WI, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison. He was born the son of Dane and Laura (Stappert) Esser in Platteville on November 9, 1996. Dallas was raised on the Mississippi River and he loved being on the water. Dallas came into the world riding horses with his mom, and left it racing boats with his dad. He was full of positive energy and laughter; he was passionate and always lived in the moment, living life to the fullest. Although Dallas carried on a tough exterior, he was a sensitive person with a quiet, caring heart. He drew you in with his smile and could always make a person laugh. Dallas enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, especially duck hunting with friends, family, and his dog, Buck. He often tried to outfish his little brother “Bubba” and liked to spend time with him and their mom watching scary movies.

Dallas carried himself with confidence and took pride in how he looked, but never worried about how others perceived him. He loved to dance and would motivate others to join him on the dance floor. Dallas was a natural athlete and could master any sport, and inspired others with his fitness regimen. He was a skilled dirt bike rider, snowboarder, and weightlifter. Dallas was a daredevil and a “hold my beer and watch this” kind of guy. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Dallas loved his family and brought so much joy to others in his short time here. As an organ and tissue donor, we are blessed to have him living on in others.

Dallas is survived by his father, Dane; brother, Colin; paternal grandparents: Ron and Charlene Esser; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Judy Stappert; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dallas was preceded in death by his mother, Laura, on June 22, 2015.

A Celebration of Dallas’ Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Riverside Park in Cassville. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Dallas J. Esser Memorial Fund has been established. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is assisting the family.
