Dale W. Moore, age 94, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was born on July 19, 1921, in Wyalusing Township, the son of Ward and Gladys (Bohringer) Moore. Dale attended school at Bloomington and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1939. In 1941, he was united in marriage to Marcia Fuller. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Lancaster. Dale owned and operated a gravel truck and hauled products for Becker & Tuckwood. Later in life, Dale was employed by Lancaster Community School District as a bus driver and school maintenance man. When the rural schools closed, he worked as custodian for Winskill Elementary School and later for Lancaster State Bank as a custodian and maintenance man. After his retirement, Dale made his home in Cassville. He met Stella Wendlandt, whom he kept close company with until his death. Together they enjoyed traveling, dancing and listening to music. On Sundays, the couple would travel to Cassville where they shared joy in the river, boats and Nelson Dewey Park.
Survivors include his dear friend, Stella Wendlandt; three grandchildren: Chad (Mary) Moore, Christopher (Cristi) Moore, and Angela (Jack) Burke, and their mother, Kathryn (Charles) Hernett; great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Funk; nieces, nephews and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; a sister, Hazel Funk; and his former wife, Marcia.
Grave side services were held on Friday, March 25, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster, with Bill Manthe officiating. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is serving the family.
