Cynthia L. "Cindi" Knapper

Cynthia L. “Cindi” Knapper, age 63, of Lancaster passed away Monday, September 5, 2022, in her home. She was born on June 4, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Bob and Barb (Lind) Steen. On April 12, 1980, Cindi was united in marriage to Gerald W. “Jerry” Knapper in Northfield, Minnesota. In that same year, they became owners of Knapper’s Water Store in Lancaster, retiring in 2011. She enjoyed volunteering with and the Grant County Holiday Project, Meals on Wheels, and Feed My Starving Children. Cindi loved to golf and travel with her husband, Jerry. They would take motorcycle trips cross country and go down to Florida during the winter.

Cindi is survived by husband, Jerry; daughter, Kaley (Bob) Johnson; grandson, Blake Johnson; her father, Bob (Barb) Steen; mother, Barb (Arnie) Heubrock; sister, Melissa (Scott) Hay; brother, Mike (Wendy) Steen; mother-in-law, Margaret Knapper; sister-in-laws, Debbie (Bob) Butterfield and Sue (Alan) Felber; brother-in-law, Ron (Cheryl) Knapper; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Knapper.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Rev. Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Private family burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a Cindi Knapper memorial fund has been established.
