Cord Roy A. Daentl, age 21, of Bloomington , died Thursday, April 1, 2010 from the result of an automobile accident. His final act of love was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. Cord was born on January 27, 1989 in Lancaster , WI the second of three children to Scott and Lori (Brodt) Daentl. He worked at Ace of Clubs/Tranels Supper Club for four years. Cord graduated from River Ridge High School in 2007. He enlisted in the US Army and volunteered to serve in Iraq , returning home in January. Cord was returning to Iraq in June with his unit. He had attended UW Whitewater for one year and had attended ITT Tech in Madison for one year and was working towards a bachelors degree. Cord was a 2nd degree black belt, lettered in wrestling at River Ridge and enjoyed hunting and computers; especially online gaming.
Cord is survived by his parents, Scott and Lori, Bloomington; his brother and sister: Jason Brown, Iraq and Courtney Daentl, Bloomington; Paternal grandparents, Donavon and Carol Daentl, Prairie du Chien; Many aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially three special cousins: Gaje Young, Jordan Mulrooney and Dustin Wachter; and many close friends. He also had a special place in his heart for Brittney Kleven.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Jeanne Brodt.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father Bart Timmerman officiating and Military Honors provided by the US Army. Burial at St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington was held at a later date. Family and friends were welcome from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8 where there was a Prayer Service at 3:45 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services all at the church. The Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington served the family.
