Constance L. Ogden

PLATTEVILLE – Constance “Connie” L. Ogden, age 80, of Platteville, died Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.  She was born on February 11, 1943, the daughter of Ted and Agnes (Brunton) Tindell. Connie graduated Platteville High School in 1961.  On May 12, 1962, she was united in marriage to Marvin Ogden.  Marvin enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Hawaiian Islands.  Connie eventually joined him and that is where their oldest daughter, Carrie, was born.  In 1966, they returned to Platteville, where she became employed at the Owl Café and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the food service department.  In 1995, Connie moved to Verona where she worked at Miller and Sons.  In 2007, she moved back to Platteville and returned to the Owl Café, a place that was near and dear to her. Connie enjoyed cooking and baking.  She dearly loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her children: Carrie (Kenny) Weigel, Kevin Ogden, Ted (Holly) Ogden, Chrissy (John) King; nine grandchildren:  Nicole, Bristol, Jamie, Adam, Isabella, Landon, Kailey, Makaya, and Austin; six great-grandchildren; her siblings: Kenny (Liz) Tindell, Pewee (Don) Russell, Lois Davies, Bev (Terry Morgan) Tindell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by two sons: Kent Ogden and Kelly Tindell; and a brother-in-law, Jim Davies.

In keeping with Connie’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.  A private family burial will be held in the Carmel Cemetery, rural Rewey.  Family and friends may call on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville.  A Celebration of Life will continue in Connie’s memory at the Crossroads Supper Club, 9315 State Rd 80, Platteville.  In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given in Connie’s memory to Agrace Hospice Center, 5395 E Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
