Colleen Maria Lenz passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday October 5, 2014.Colleen, daughter of Gregory & Andrea Watry, was born on November 17th 1927, in Los Angeles CA. She married Floyd Lenz in 1945 in Los Angeles and then moved to Cassville where they resided for a short time before moving to the State of Washington where their first son Daniel was born. They then moved to Honolulu, HI where their second son Gregory was born. Five years later they settled in Cassville WI, where daughters Marilyn, Vickie, & Barb were born.
Colleen worked and retired from Rapid Die & Molding. Her many joys included decorating her infamous cakes for family and friends, making quilts for family, reading, watching and going to movies, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, socializing with her friends, and gardening where she would produce the vegetables needed to can her questionable salsa for her grandkids! But her biggest passion was her faithfulness to the church. Colleen spent many hours helping at the United Methodist Church keeping books, helping with the upkeep of the church, and partaking at Sunday services. She also loved enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.She was always ready to participate in any and all adventures. She was the biggest groupie for all the sports games and musical performances as well as for the Shake Rattle & Roll band!
Colleen is survived by her daughters, Vickie (Tom) Vail and Barb (Mitch) Reynolds; daughter-in-law, Barb Lenz; siblings, Dorothy Browning and Evelyn (Pete) Montoya; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren & one on the way. She also accumulated several honorary "adopted" children and grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by Floyd Lenz; daughter, Marilyn; sons, Daniel & Greg; and her two brothers, Jim & Pete Watry.
A celebration of life was held at the Martin Funeral Home in Cassville, on Thursday October 9, 2014. Family greeted friends from 1-4 p.m., & a memorial service was held at 4:00 p.m., with Reverend Mary Ann Floerke officiating.
