Clayton A. Mccartney

Clayton McCartney, 73, of Lancaster passed away, Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Grant Regional Hospital. Clayton was born June 16, 1947, to Arnold and Elsie(Hooks) McCartney. He was united in marriage to Marilyn (Ritter) on June 7, 1969, in Lancaster.

Clayton graduated from Platteville High School. He drove gravel truck for Becker & Tuckwood, Case Implement in Fennimore and spent almost 50 years working for People’s Oil in Lancaster. He enjoyed fishing and hunting but in later years his biggest enjoyment was his five grand kids.

Clayton is survived by his wife Marilyn and his three boys Michael, Jamie (Christy) and Jon (Jenny), five grandchildren Clay who is stationed with the Military Police in Hawaii, Ryan, Davin, Brady and Payson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Virgil and Charlene Ritter and a brother-in-law Merle Ritter.

Staying with his wishes, there will be no service or burial. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
