Chris Walker

Chris Walker, age 91, of Lancaster, formerly of Beetown, died on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Lancaster Care Center. He was born on October 17, 1919, in Waterloo Township, the son of Chris and Mary (Walker) Chase. On September 20, 1947, he married Lois M. Clark at the Fennimore United Methodist Church. Since 1951, he has owned and operated Chris Walker Auctioneering. He also operated the Walker family farm in Waterloo Township. Chris and Lois owned the Valley Tap in Beetown. He was a member of the Warren Lodge #4 F&AM of Potosi for more than 60 years and served as a Past Master. Chris enjoyed hunting and fishing. At the age of 85, he went buffalo hunting in South Dakota with his family.

Survivors include four children: Ronald (Deb) Walker, Soldotna, AK; Tom (Roberta) Walker, Cassville; Deborah (Doug Dobson) Walker, Platteville; and Michael Walker, East Dubuque, IL; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a half-brother, Alvin Walker, Cassville.

In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, in 2008 and a half-brother, Matt Walker.

Masonic funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial was in the Cassville Cemetery. Family and friends called on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 4:00 7:00 p.m. and friends also called from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
