BLOOMINGTON – Charles E. Jeidy, age 84, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on December 8, 1937, in Lancaster, the son of Arno and Bertha (Gates) Jeidy. Charles graduated from Bloomington High School. He was drafted into the United States National Guard and served his country for six years. After his honorable discharge, Charles farmed on the family farm in Little Grant Township. He enjoyed traveling, flying, camping, and fishing. Charles was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Abraham-Hickok-Wetmore American Legion Post No. 148 of Bloomington.
Survivors include his four children: Trudy (James) Waterstradt, Christine (Tom Sahr), Charles (Doris), and Leo (Mingmin) Jeidy; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his companion, JoAnne Hampton; a sister, Bessie Winkers; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Carl Winkers.
Memorial services and military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. Noon at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
