Carol J. Udelhoven, age 84, of Mineral Point, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016, at Upland Hills Health Center in Dodgeville. She was born on September 30, 1931, in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of Charles J. and Cecile V. (Weaver) Schwarz. It was there that she met Donald R. Udelhoven who was a PFC stationed stateside in New Orleans. On October 10, 1955, Carol and Don were united in marriage. After their marriage, the couple moved to Beetown Township where they farmed the Udelhoven family farm. Carol enjoyed southern cooking, golfing, square dancing, playing cards and spending time with family. She was a member of the Bloomington United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children: Karen (Brad) Wells, Mineral Point; Greg (Beth) Udelhoven, Plymouth, MN; Aaron (Heidi) Udelhoven, Brooklyn, WI; nine grandchildren: Makenzie Wells; Rachael and Audra Zimmer; Ryan, Eric, and Carly Udelhoven; Tavna, Dru, and Raelyn Udelhoven; a son-in-law, Michael Zimmer; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Carolyn Zimmer; and her sisters: Myrtle Amato, Laura Cortez; Esther Triche.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster with Reverend Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township. Family and friends called on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Carol J. Udelhoven Memorial Fund has been established.
