Carl Chapin Logemann, 50, of Lancaster died on Monday, March 24, 2008 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He has now given the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation. He was born in Freeport, Illinois on October 27, 1957, the son of Stanley and Jean (Chapin) Logemann. He was raised in Stockton, Illinois and Monroe, Wisconsin. He attended Stockton Elementary and Middle School. Carl was a 1975 graduate of Monroe High School and a 1979 graduate of UW-LaCrosse with a BS in Education. He received his MSEd from UW-Platteville in 1992. He was a beloved teacher for his entire career. He taught Physical Education for the Dakota School District from 1980-1981. He then taught physical education, health, and driver education in the Gilmanton School District from 1981-1986. He has been teaching health and physical education for the Lancaster School District since 1986. Carl was an adored coach of football, basketball and baseball. His love for basketball was his identity and he was affectionately known by his players as C Loges. Carl has been a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bulls his entire life. This love led him to his summer job as a driver for Tri-State Tours in Galena, Illinois.

On August 6, 1982 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Mary Kathryn Mary Kay Klarer at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. They lived in Eau Claire, Mondovi, and have been a part of the Lancaster community for over twenty years. Carl was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2820 and the Wisconsin Basketball Association.

Carl dedicated his life to his students and to his wife and two children, Jonathan and Teresa Logemann. Carls greatest joy was being a dad and a great dad he was. He enjoyed coaching his children in basketball, softball and baseball and was their greatest fan. Jonathan is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Teresa is a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Carl is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Kay, his loving children, Jonathan and Teresa; his mother, Jean Logemann of Stockton, Illinois; his brothers and sister: Bill (Anne) Logemann of Bellevue, Iowa; Lynne (Kerry) George of Ankeny, Iowa; Elaine Enriquez of Stockton, Illinois; and Clark (Martha) Logemann of Rockford, Illinois. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law: Fr. Michael Klarer of Monroe; and Patrick (Mary Alice Harris) Klarer of Verona; and his sister-in-law, Ellen (Mike) Malkow of Monroe. He was a favorite uncle of his nieces and nephews Jeremiah Logemann, Christopher George, Jessica Zabel, Eli Logemann, Andrew Logemann, Jennifer Malkow, and Christopher Malkow. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Logemann in 1974.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with his brother-in-law, Fr. Michael E. Klarer, Fr. William Seipp, Monsignor Thomas Baxter, and Father Kent Schmidt officiating. The visitation was held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at St. Clement Catholic Church from 4:00 8:00 p.m. Private family burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.
