LANCASTER – Brian T. Janssen, age 46, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was born on August 23, 1974, in Lancaster the son of Rodger and Mary (Leibfried) Janssen. Brian graduated from Lancaster High School in 1993 and furthered his education at UW-Stout. He pursued a career in financing and banking, most recently employed as the branch manager at People's State Bank in Lancaster. On August 10, 2013, Brian was united in marriage to the love of his life, Denise Kammerud and gained his Best Buddy, Braeden, at Lancaster Memorial Park. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing softball and listening to music. Brian dearly loved being involved in Braeden's youth sports and socializing with his father. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers. Brian volunteered with the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, serving as President and with OccuPaws, where he loved spending time with the dogs.
Survivors include his loving wife, Denise; his Best Buddy, Braeden; his father, Rodger Janssen; his siblings: Jay (Missy) Janssen and Rob Janssen; nieces and nephew: Kennedy Kammerud and Anna and Adam Janssen; a brother-in-law, Dan Kammerud; his aunts: Lonnie Pointon, Patti (Curtis) Busby, and Kate (Laker Schildgen) Schindler; his devoted dog, Cooper; other relatives and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Janssen and his father and mother-in-law, John and Jean Kammerud.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Vernon officiating. Private family burial will be at St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Brian's life will be held at a later date. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Brian T. Janssen Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is serving the family.
