Blanche M. Edge, age 91, of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on July 5, 1916, in Mount Hope, WI, the daughter of James and Mabel (Neeley) Clark. Blanche married Edward Walker on December 1, 1935, in Galena, IL. He preceded her in death in 1980. Blanche was employed at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Lancaster and Fennimore United Methodist Church. Blanche was also a member of the Grant Regional Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She later married Ermil Edge on April 21, 1989. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Surviving are her children: Marlene Bliskey, DePere; Arlyn (Maxine) Walker, Reno, NV; Geri (Dick) Austin, Mineral Point; Gerald (Mary) Walker, Delavan; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Hattie Clark, Lancaster; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward and Ermil; a son, James Walker; a grandson, Jason Walker; three brothers, John, Frank and James Clark; four sisters: Mildred Cohen, Glenys Jozefowicz, Velma Walker, and Alice Miller.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Lancaster United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Friday, March 7, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church on Saturday, March 8, 2008.
