Betty L. Hudson, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. She was born March 8, 1932 in Royalton, WI, the daughter of Donald and Inez (McKelvey) Henderson. Betty attended Sinners Creek rural school through 8th grade and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1949. On September 17, 1951 she was united into marriage to Carl R. Hudson. Together they farmed and raised their family in Ellenboro township. Betty was a devoted member of the Lancaster Congregational Church, where she served on many committees.
Surviving is her loving husband of 66 years, Carl, their children; Cheryl Bartels, Steven (Vicki) Hudson, Donna (Tom) Sikhart, Mark Hudson, Joyce (Mark) Dickman, Keith Hudson, Pam Hudson, Janis (Roger) Oyen, Kelly (Michael) Chadd, and Nancy (David) Thompson, 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and a sister in law, Marguerite Henderson.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son in law, Dennis Bartels, a grandson Carlyle Oyen, a granddaughter Brianna Oyen, a great grandson Oliver Conant, her brother Gail Henderson and her father and mother in law, Byron and Daisy Hudson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church, with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the church, and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Lancaster is assisting the family.
