Beth M. Stivarius

Beth M. Stivarius, age 90, of Lancaster, died on Monday, March 31, 2008, at the Lancaster Care Center. She was born on August 23, 1917, the daughter of William and Toni (Spease) Mathews. In 1951, Beth married Leo Stivarius. After their marriage, the couple, farmed in the Montfort area. Her husband, Leo, died on August 14, 1966. Beth dearly enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and quilting.

Survivors include her sister, Kitty Crone, Lancaster and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by two daughters in infancy; her husband, Leo; her brothers: Oscar, Clyde and Virgil Mathews; her sisters: Ruby Tindell, Florence Tracy, Harriet Mathews and Sylvia Axtell.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 4, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Montfort. Friends called on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
