Benjamin Frederick “Ben” Quick, age 46, of Lancaster, formerly of Bagley, passed away at his home Monday, April 17, 2023, due to muscular dystrophy and complications from diabetes. He was born July 20, 1976, the son of Robert and Cindy (Knapp) Quick. Ben was a 1995 graduate of West Grant High School, the last class before the school combined with Bloomington and became River Ridge. During his high school years, he enjoyed hunting and music. Ben had a beautiful voice and even sang at his sister’s wedding. He spent several years working on the Quick family farm. Ben took great pride in highly maintaining all farm machinery and equipment. He was known for his love of working the fields and exploring Grant County in his ranger.
He is survived by his parents Bob and Cindy; his 3 siblings: Shelly (Greg) Page, Roy (Michelle) Quick, and Matt (Carrie) Quick. Ben enjoyed being an uncle to his eight nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by all.
Ben was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Nona Quick, Sr. and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Lorraine Knapp.
A Celebration of Ben’s Life will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Route 35 Pub & Pizza, 527 Canal Street, in Bloomington. Private family burial will be in Union Nagle Cemetery, Patch Grove Township. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
