Barbara K. "Barb" Schildgen, age 70, of Stoughton, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Nazareth Nursing Home in Stoughton. She was born on November 19, 1950, in Lancaster, the daughter of Joseph and Drusilla (Louthain) Schildgen. Barb graduated from Lancaster High School in 1969. She enlisted in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge. Upon her return to Lancaster, Barb was employed as a custodian at the Lancaster Care Center and provided housekeeping services for local residences. She was very involved with her family and provided childcare for her nieces and nephews. Barb was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church. She was active in supporting many Veteran's Affairs organizations. Barb enjoyed ceramics, crafting, dancing, music, gardening, and playing games with her family.
Survivors include her siblings: Connie Reynolds; Laker (Kate); Doug (Becky); Loren (Denise); Mike (Neno); Ginny Schildgen; Marcine (Tom) Grabenbauer; a sister-in-law, Laura Schildgen; her aunt, Sally (Joe) Langkamp; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by two brothers, Lenny and Warren "Trout" Schildgen; a brother-in-law, Franklin "Delano" Reynolds; two nephews: Todd and Michael Reynolds.
In keeping with Barb's wishes, there will be no formal services. Private family burial with military honors will be held at St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster, with Father William Vernon officiating. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
