Lancaster – Barbara Jean “Barb” Bausch, age 63, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, after a five-year courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side. She was born on November 17, 1954, in Platteville, the daughter of Byron and Wilma (Pierce) Landon. Barb attended Lancaster Community Schools, graduating from Lancaster High School in 1973. She continued her education attending Madison Area Technical College and completed her LPN degree. Barb returned to Lancaster in 1974 starting what was to be 43 years of a dedicated nursing career. On January 25, 1975, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Anthony “Tony” Bausch in a candlelight ceremony at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Barb and Tony raised their three children while Barb continued her education and receiving her RN from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore and also continuing on to receive her BS in Nursing from Clarke College in Dubuque, IA. Barb worked in many areas of the nursing field including Orchard Manor, Lancaster Care Center, Nursing Director at the Psychology unit in Boscobel, ARC in Dubuque, IA, and St. Dominic Villa in Sinsinawa. Most recently Barb worked at Grant Regional Health Center, retiring but not done with her life’s work. She started the job of a lifetime taking care of her granddaughter, Kendra. This was a job Barb cherished and used her many years of nursing and motherhood experiences to take amazing care of her until cancer took that away from her. Barb’s many hobbies included scrap booking, card making, gardening, and just working outside doing most of the landscaping around the house. Barb enjoyed her antiquing trips to flea markets and antique stores wherever she traveled. She was an active member of the Lancaster American Legion Auxiliary, Grant Regional Auxiliary, Lancaster United Methodist Church Women’s Ruth Circle, and the Red Hat Mama’s.
