Audrey L. Beecher, age 93, of Lancaster formerly of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on July 29, 1919, in Milwaukee, the daughter of William P. and Irene (Hebert) Campshure. Audrey married Chester Art Beecher in 1947, and together they owned and operated the Club Nicolet in DePere for twenty-two years and the Seymour Hotel from 1961 until 1966. Following their retirement she opened "Audrey's Wig Salon" in DePere. She was very creative with needlework, crafts, and stained glass, liked to travel and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Kemps, Lancaster; her children: Dawn (Greg) Miller, Rochester, MN; Scott (Deborah) Kemps, Satellite Beach, FL; Carla (David) Ruth, Jacksonville, FL; LeeAnn (Marland) Bode, Dickeyville; and Christopher (Raquel) Kemps, Jacksonville, FL; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a son, Don R. (Joan) Miller and his children: Michael, Kari, Tom "TJ" and Sue; her sisters: Joyce LeFebvre and Elaine Jorgensen both of Green Bay; her god-daughter, Audrey Gerads; special friend, Randy Bouche and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, William "Bud" Campshure; her son-in-law, James Kemps, and a grandson, Todd Kemps.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 2, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday from1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster assisted the family.
