Arden Buck B. Parker, age 88, of Patch Grove, died on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home. He was born on December 11, 1923, in Millville, the son of James and Ella (Millin) Parker. Arden attended school at Campbell Ridge School and LaCrosse Technical College where he was awarded a degree in welding. He served his country during World War II and was awarded an Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. On June 21, 1952, Arden was united in marriage to Pauline Palmer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. After their marriage, Arden was employed at Allis Chalmers as a welder for twenty-one years. He farmed in Grant County until his retirement in 2010. Arden enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and working on the farm. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Rick (Carol) Parker, Prairie du Chien; three grandchildren: Amy (Adam) Kratochvill, Bangor; Jesse (Jamie) Parker, Tina (Nate) Parker, all of Prairie du Chien; thirteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Pauline, Arden was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Ethel (Art) Simons, Glee (Joe) Cuchna; Kenneth (Agnes) Parker; Harold Smokey (Marie) Parker, and Martha Parker; an infant grandchild, Stacy James and an infant great-grandchild, Keith.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial with military honors was in Union Nagle Cemetery, Patch Grove Township. Family and friends called on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
