CASSVILLE – Anna M. Petersen, age 58, of Cassville, formerly of Racine, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on January 17, 1965, in Racine, the daughter of David and Erika Smrekar. Anna attended J I Case High School, Racine, WI. She spent her life dedicated to her husband, children, and grandchildren. On July 22, 2000, Anna was united in marriage to Tom Petersen at DeKoven Center. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Cassville where they owned and operated the Silver Spigot Saloon. Anna enjoyed camping, hanging out on the Mississippi River and spending time in Millston with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband, Tom; her children: Robin Ellison (Autumn), Benjamin Ellison, and Amanda Smrekar. Her grandchildren: Summer, Robin Jr (RJ) Brantley, Phoenix, Ethan and Breeson and Erika, Jayce and Brayden. Great granddaughter, Iyanna. Her brother, David (MaryJane) Smrekar. Nieces and Nephews Devin, Dalton, Cassie, Katelynn and Chase. Her uncles, Daniel Smrekar and Tom Smrekar. Cousins, Nathan, Lauren, Alex, Andy and Erin.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and uncle Jack Smrekar.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Millston Union Church, W6647 Berry St., at 12:00 p.m. in Millston. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Millston following the funeral service. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Family and Friends are also invited for food and refreshments at The 400 Club following burial. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is assisting the family.
