Ann Louise Murray-Ryznar, age 55 of Cassville, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Grant Regional Health Center, in Lancaster. She was born December 6, 1960 in Istanbul, Turkey, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Lund) Jacobsen. In her youth, Ann Louise was raised in Turkey, Spain, Swaziland, Kenya, France, and stateside in Kansas. She continued her education at Lawrence College, in Appleton, Wisconsin. This led to a teaching position in Chicago for many years. In graduate school, Ann Louise met her first husband, John Murray. He preceded her in death in 2004. Ann Louise was employed as an art teacher at Wyalusing Academy in Prairie du Chien. She was the Special Education Teacher in the Cassville School District. On August 26, 2006 Ann Louise was united into marriage to Thomas E. Ryznar. She enjoyed the outdoors and all the activities it provided, which included horseback riding, and caring for any kind of animal. She had a very artistic side that included ceramics, jewelry making, and calligraphy.
Surviving is her loving husband, Tom; her sons, Sean and Nicholas Murray; parents, Edward and Mary Jacobsen; mother in law, Ann Ryznar; sisters, Lisa (Jeff) Rockwood and Greta Strobel; 3 nephews Steven Rockwood, Jesse and Jake Strobel, John Murray's daughter Colleen, as well and many dear friends and colleagues from Chicago and Cassville.
Ann was preceded in death by her first husband John Murray, her father in law John Ryznar Jr., and a brother in law, Joseph Strobel.
A Methodist Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends called on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. The Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is assisting the family. In lieu of plants and flowers, an Ann Louise Murray - Ryznar memorial fund has been established for her sons, Sean and Nicholas Murray.
