Alice Richter

Alice J. Richter, age 78, of Cassville, died on Thursday, September 05, 2013, at her home in Cassville. She was born on December 10, 1934, in Green Bay, the daughter of Gilbert and Elizabeth (Breunig) Wirtz. Alice graduated from Fond du Lac High School. On November 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to Albert Paul Richter at Fond du Lac. After their marriage the couple moved to Cassville. One child was born to this union, Sandra Jo. Alice and Paul owned and operated an antique shop in Cassville called Browse Shoppe for over twenty years. She was also employed as a dispatcher for Wisconsin Barge Line for several years. Alice and Paul enjoyed selling antiques while wintering in Arkansas. In addition to collecting antiques, she also enjoyed sewing, collecting bears, socializing over lunch with friends, going to auctions and spending time with family. Alice will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her three grandchildren: Ellen (Jason) Wright; Melinda (David Bennett) Harbaugh; Don (Rayme) Harbaugh; six great-grandchildren: Faith, Serina, Reese, William, Rowan, and Deegan; her siblings: Diane Warner; Barbara Jawson; Paul (Mary Jo) Wirtz; Mary Beth (Joseph) Osiecki; and John (Darlene) Wirtz; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra in 2001; her husband, Paul in 2002; and a brother, Marvin.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends called on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the funeral home.
