Ada L. Roberts, age 90, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Fennimore. She was born on January 28, 1920, in Ellenboro Township, the daughter of George and Elsie (Eastman) Sandleback. Ada graduated from Lancaster High School and attended Madison Business College. She married Arno Hartman. They had a son, Jimmy. Ada later married Ed Roberts. They had a daughter, Roberta. Ada was a caregiver and a nurse who took care of many elderly persons in their homes. She was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church and the Womens Circle and she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, playing bingo, doing jig saw puzzles and visiting with people.
Survivors include her grandson, Tim Hartman, Cassville; a great-granddaughter, Lisa Hartman, Monroe; and nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Arno and Edward, Ada was preceded in death by her two children, James and Roberta; two brothers: Leslie (Marie) Sandleback and Elmer (Alice) Sandleback; three sisters: Delphia Sandleback, Genevieve (Frank Pete) Flesch, and Dorothy Sandleback.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Family and friends called on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
